This Naked Mind

This Naked Mind…an intriguing name for a book, isn’t it? I think of my naked mind as my mind before it was conditioned by years of experience and influence. A naked mind is open to examining life experiences with curiosity. A naked mind is able to clearly see a belief, evaluate it as to truthfulness and usefulness, and then choose an equally true belief to adopt moving forward.

For example, I was convinced that alcohol relaxed me—I was as sure of that as I was sure that the sky was blue. And it certainly appeared to be true, at least for about 20-30 minutes, after which time I needed another drink in order to raise my spirits up again. Learning the science behind what alcohol actually did to my body and my brain helped me understand that alcohol only numbed my feelings, and as soon as the effects of the alcohol wore off, the stress was still there. But the real magic came when I discovered that I had the power to dismantle the belief that alcohol relaxed me and to not actually believe it any more!

    The Power

This Naked Mind approach (TNM) will help you learn why you drink, both psychologically and neurologically. Understanding these reasons will allow you to make decisions based on information that empowers you, giving you control, rather than imposing rules on you.

Annie Grace developed this methodology and wrote the book using the best research available and all of the TNM community, including coaches, continue to look to new credible studies and research in order to remain a deep well of information and resources.

I would like to share with you a brief excerpt from the book: “What if, by reversing years of unconscious conditioning, you could return to the perspective of a non-drinker? Not a recovering (sober) alcoholic but a person with the same desire, need, and craving for alcohol as someone who has never picked up a bottle—a true non-drinker. Well, you can.”

Sound too good to be true? I was skeptical too. But my life is a testament to the fact that it can and does work.

I know that when I was worried about my drinking and trying to figure out what to do about it, there was a long time when I was not ready to openly talk about it and share with someone else. That link will provide you with more anonymous options to address your concerns. However, if you’re ready to talk with someone, you can schedule a free 30-minute call with me.
